Verónica Cortez, Venezuelan TV, movies and teather actress. She has also worked as theater producer. After completing studies at the National Theater School, she continued his acting training under the guidance of the master Enrique Porte in the Actor Workshop, starting professionally on the stage with the classic "Urfaust" by Goethe, directed by Santiago Sanchez.
In cinema, her professional debut was in 1989 with "Aventurera", a film by Pablo de la Barra, nominated in the Goya Awards and with which she won the ANAC Award (National Association of Cinematographic Authors) for Best Leading Actress.
In 1991, she stars in "La Montaña de Cristal", a Spanish-Venezuelan co-production directed by Joaquín Cortes. And in 1993, with "Thunder's Devil", italian production, shares roles with international actors such as John Savage.
On television, she begins with the soap operas "La Encantada" by Kiko Olivieri and "La Sombra de Piera". In 1991 she is hired by Radio Caracas as exclusive actress and participates in various productions as "Kassandra" (in antagonistic role), a novel written by Delia Fiallo and directed by Grazio D'Angelo, which entered the Guinness Record Book as the "Spanish television series broadcasted in the largest number of countries", "Amores de Fin de Siglo" by Leonardo Padrón, "Carissima" by Julio César Mármol and "Juana La Virgen" by Perla Carias.
She has also made participation in unitaries such as "La Mano", directed by Tony Rodriguez.In 2008 and 2009 she plays Lucrecia, a character in the "Isa TKM" youth series, written by Mariela Romero and produced by Nickelodeon Latin America and Sony Pictures Television International.
Recently , she participated in the historical novel "Guerreras y Centauros", by Quimera Producciones. Also has played, in the unitaries "Horario Restringido" and "Dónde están las niñas ?" of the TV series "Escándalos" produced by TELEVEN.
In theater, she has participated in more than 30 plays, for different genres ranging from drama, experimental theater, children's theater, café-concert and comedy. Parallel to her experience as an actress, Verónica also works as producer and journalist.
She graduated from the Central University of Venezuela with a degree in Social Communication and currently, through her company Tulipano Producciones, is dedicated, simultaneously to her work as an actress, to the production of theater shows.
