Vasant has written and directed two short films: 'Shanu Taxi' and 'Sukrit's Sundays', which have travelled to over 20 International festivals, including the prestigious Clermont Ferrand International Short Film Fest.
'Shanu Taxi' won the award for best film at the Mahindra Indo-American Arts Council Film Festival, New York in 2007; and the award for best fiction film at the Extravagant India Film Festival, Paris in 2009.
He works as an independent writer/director in Mumbai. His first feature film project 'Sebastian Wants to Remember' was a finalist for the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles' Film Fund in 2010, and one of the 12 chosen projects at the Locarno Open Doors Co-Production Lab, 2011.
