Before Fame
He met Walt Disney in 1919, when the two working for Kansas City's Pesmen-Rubin Art Studio. The two decided to become animators while employed with the Kansas City Film Ad Company. He co-created Mickey Mouse and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit with Disney.
Trivia
He created the Academy Award-nominated special effects for Alfred Hitchcock's horror film "The Birds" from 1963.
Family Life
He was the father of Disney legend Don Iwerks and the grandfather of documentary film Producer Leslie Iwerks.
