Born and raised in London, England - the youngest son of playwright and novelist Christopher Wilkins - Toby relocated to Los Angeles in the '90s to pursue a career in entertainment.With an extensive background in editing, graphic design, visual effects, and post-production, filmmaker Toby Wilkins has been bringing his unique directing talents to feature films, television, and short-form content for the big and small screens for two decades.

Wilkins' feature debut "Splinter" hit theatres on Halloween 2008 after winning six ScreamFest Awards including Best Director and Best Picture, a 2009 Saturn Award nomination for Best Horror Film, and nominations for Best Horror Movie and Most Memorable Mutilation at the 2009 Spike TV Scream Awards.

"Splinter" received rave reviews from The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, LA Times, New York Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, Fangoria, Paper Magazine, At The Movies, The Times of London, The Daily Telegraph, USA Today, Variety, Ain't It Cool News, KCRW, LA Weekly, and dozens of horror blogs.

"Splinter" also appeared on over two dozen Best Of lists including #1 horror movie of 2008 from AMC TV, was featured in the 2014 documentary The 50 Best Horror Movies You've Never Seen, and maintains a Rotten Tomatoes 'Top Critics' score of 81% fresh.

Wilkins' first foray into TV came in 2011 when he was tapped by showrunner Jeff Davis (Criminal Minds) to direct three episodes early in the first season of his now smash hit series "Teen Wolf" for MTV.

Wilkins was then hand picked by creator Ben Ketai to direct the entire third season of his Sony/Crackle action thriller "Chosen" starring Chad Michael Murray and Rose McGowan which Wilkins also edited.

Wilkins' films have been entertaining audiences since 1999, receiving recognition at the world's most prestigious film festivals. Ranging from multiple Sundance Film Festival premieres including the quirky comedy I Lost 20lbs In Two Months, Ask Me How (2002), the Austin Film Festival audience award winning dark comedy Kidney Thieves (2006), and the ScreamFest Award winning thriller Staring at the Sun (2005) which brought his distinctive style to the attention of horror legend Sam Raimi who shepherded Wilkins through the next phase of his career culminating in his second feature, the third installment of Sony Pictures' $280M "Grudge" franchise in 2009.

Also an accomplished editor, Wilkins' most notable credits include the multi-award-winning horror feature "Beneath", three seasons of Sony Crackle's "Startup", and two seasons of "Chosen" before going on to direct the entire third season of the series.
