Steve is a smart, powerful, edgy underdog. He has a quirky edge It has served him well in the roles he's played and in life. Of course, underneath there is a great sense of ironic humor, kindness and passion.
From the first time he turned on the TV as a little kid and wanted to get inside, he has been an actor. As he left the movie theater in character after watching Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid his passion only grew.
The iconic scene from The Graduate where the red sports car speeds up Pacific Coast Highway in the bright sunlight by the blue ocean to Simon and Garfunkle's Scarborough Fair ignited Steve's dream of acting in LA.
On his way he stopped in Oklahoma City for a few years to attend college and major in acting. Finally, he was ready for LA. Idealism is a wonderful thing.... Cut to a few years later...after multiple theater openings/closings at the Colony Theater and others in LA, Steve made his way to the bright lights of New York to continue training.
But alas, idealism cannot pay bills or provide love and warmth... Steve decided to take a break from it all. Once more LA called. But this time, he took a hiatus to live life and find a family and something he never had before.
..money. It came to be that Steve got married had a great kid, made money at Warner Bros. as a project manager and lived...not so happily ever after. Some years passed and Steve and his family moved back to Washington DC.
A funny thing happened along the way of being a husband and coaching little league and youth football...life wasn't so swell and something was missing. For the next several years he showed his range and abilities on Washington area stages appearing in comedies like Sly Fox, Driving Miss Daisy, The Marriage of Bette and Boo, Importance of Being Earnest and dramas including The Diary of Anne Frank as Otto, Hatful of Rain, BUG, and Best Man.
During this time Steve also appeared as a lead in several award winning Baltimore Playwrights Festival world premiere plays. Also, during this time Steve found his way to the film world once again; acting in industrial and independent films, and various commercials including a couple of Mattress Warehouse spots that showed for many years.
Steve's life journey has taken him into a wonderful second marriage and transition to to living in New York full time. Steve is a proud member of The Actors Green Room Accelerate and has produced and acted in several short films including his latest Like Daughter Like mother which was screened at the New York Short Film Festival, Big Apple Film Festival and the Williamsburg Independent Film Festival among others.
He can be seen in the festival award winning short Sure-Fire. It has garnished much attention all over the country. Steve is in production on a short film called The Choice To Be Alive. He is the co-writer, creator, executive producer and star of the film.
His new production company is called Baby Boo Boo Productions LLC.Steve is a New York trained actor. He has been studying Alexander Technique and movement with Jean Louis Rodrigue and Kristof Konrad, on-camera scene study with Anthony Robert Grasso, and scene study with Larry Moss and Deena Levy.
He has attended workshops in London and Florence Italy, taught by Anthony Robert Grasso and Janice Orlandi. His growth is in a constant forward motion.Steve is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA.He continues on his life's journey in pursuit of his purpose that the little kid who sat in front of the TV and wanted to get inside identified years ago! As Butch and Sundance said as they jumped off the cliff into the water "woooo".
