Sevket Sabanci was born on 1936 in Turkey. Sevket Sabanci is a second generation representative of Sabanci Holding, one of Turkey's largest holding companies; he previously served as the vice chairman of the Holding. While his brother Erol Sabanci and his family remain on the board of Akbank, Sevket Sabanci, his wife Hayirli Sabanci and their children (Ali, Emine, Sadika) have partially sold their shares of Akbank. Their family wealth comes primarily from Esas Holding which includes Turkey's largest private aviation company, Pegasus.
