Sean Cernow was born on June 3rd 1977 in Oldham. In 1993 he attended Oldham's Higginshaw School of Performing Arts before going onto study theatre at Tameside College of Performing Arts in Ashton and the North West College of London.
In 1998 he enrolled on Salford University's Media Performance Course. In 2002, Sean made his film debut as the gunman, Little Pel in Michael Winterbottom's 24 Hour Party People and his television debut in World Productions' ultra realistic, 2003 BAFTA winning prison drama, Buried alongside Lennie James and Stephen Walters.
Sean has since become known as a versatile character actor with an often flawless ability in creating some truly frighteningly realistic characters, such as the brutal drug dealer Tapper in Prisoner's Wives (2012), the fundamentalist Christian Terrorist Tommy Denning in Baptism directed by Phil Hawkins (2013) and, Felix in The Musketeers opposite Jason Flemyng and Luca Pasqualino and directed by Toby Haynes.
During his career Sean has worked with; Mark Hamill, Stephen Walters, Lennie James, Ben Miles, Hugh Bonneville, David Harewood, Archie Panjabi, Renu Setna, Jane Horrocks, Noel Clarke, James D'Arcy, Richard Madden and Andrew Tiernan.
