Ferrera coached Texas high school greats Tommy Kramer (Minnesota Vikings), Vann McElroy (Los Angeles Raiders), AJ Johnson (Washington Redskins) Richard Osborne (New York Jets) Pat Rocket (Atlanta Braves) and Scott Coolbaugh (Baltimore Orioles) along with many more.

In his Junior year, he scored the winning touchdown to knock off then No. 1 5A ranked Converse Judson who incidentally held the top spot in the country at that time. He left Baylor for three years and completed his degree in 1994. After graduation Scott went back and forth from Houston, TX and Maracaibo, Venezuela where he worked as roustabout for 6 years. He got the acting bug when he met now close friend Jason Fischer who was starting production on a local Independent film in 1998.
