Scott Nap, aka Scott Napolitano, was one of the first 11 writers chosen to join the Writers Guild of America East during the first phases of its WGA Web 2.0 Initiative in October 2009 for his work on the web comedy "Issues: The Series".
The Jersey Shore native began working actively in film and television at 16 and has not looked back.Nap first got his taste of filming action as a camera assistant for the Lakewood Blueclaws, a minor league affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies and a major Jersey Shore attraction.
After only a few short months, Scott became the teams head videographer and editor. While at The College of New Jersey, he began taking on professional jobs and internships, including stints with BMS Films of Bristol Myers-Squibb during its Lance Armstrong "Live Strong" Campaign.
While with the NJ Film and Television Commission, he aided in productions ranging from Artie Lange's "Beer League" to Julie Taymor's "Across the Universe" and "The Sopranos".During his senior year, Scott attended the open casting call for M.
Night Shyamalan's "Lady in the Water" and was chosen to be an extra in the party scene. This marked the big screen debut for Mr. Nap. 2006 also marked Scott's first major exposure to the press, as his short film "Estelle" gained regional attention as it brought awareness to a 30 year old unsolved murder case.
Upon graduating college, Scott spent a year teaching a production class at a northern New Jersey high school, before returning to work as a professional cameraman and editor. It was during the WGA Strike when Scott began thinking of developing his own web series.
After shooting a short film featuring 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' creator Joss Whedon, Scott and colleague Joey Harris began writing the web series "Issues", based on Scott's experience working in retail.
The production began in August 2008, wrapped in November 2008 and was released in January of 2009. The entire cast appeared as guests at New York ComicCon in February of 2009, just as Scott turned 25.
Scott went on to take a position with MSG Varsity Network as a Media Producer and Trainer just as he was inducted into the Writers Guild of America in September of 2009. He remains active in the web television community and is developing additional digital media projects for the future.
