Born in Detroit and raised in San Marino, CA. Scott Liggett is a national Emmy Award-winning music & audio producer who has had a successful 40+ year career as a musician, arranger, composer, producer and executive.
In 1997 he co-founded audio post house Media City Sound in Studio City. In 2014 he founded LNL Partners, a cinematic graphic novel company producing projects for William Shatner and Stan Lee. In 2017 he founded Shatner Universe LLC, an entertainment content development & production company in North Hollywood.
Scott studied at the Conservatory of Music at University of the Pacific and film scoring at UCLA. He performed as a singer/songwriter for 5 years in the popular San Francisco group, The Stuart Little Band.
He then played guitar and trumpet for 2 years in the house orchestras at Harrah's Lake Tahoe/Reno and Sahara Lake Tahoe. Still in Lake Tahoe he founded a live-stage production company (The Zar Corporation) and produced shows for 2 years in Las Vegas, Tahoe, Reno, Dallas and Los Angeles.
In 1980 he moved back to Los Angeles to start his career in Hollywood. As a musician, Scott has performed shows with artists including: Frank Sinatra, David Bowie, Sarah Vaughn, Bob Marley, Charlie Rich, Shirley McLaine, Dean Martin, Don Rickles, The Carpenters, The Smothers Bros, Boz Scaggs and Van Morrison to name a few.
As a music producer, he's worked with all major TV networks, NFL Super Bowl, American Greetings, William Shatner, Howard Stern, Robert Goulet, Aaron Sorkin, Netflix's Chelsea Handler shows and 100's of TV commercials & promos.
As a composer, Scott's music has been heard in over a 1,000 TV shows, over 200 commercials & promos as well as the headline planetarium show "Centered In The Universe" at the Griffith Observatory. He is a founding member of the International Documentary Association as well as a member of the Television Academy, SAG/AFTRA and the Society of Composers & Lyricists.
Scott received University of the Pacific's 2020 Distinguished Professional Service Alumni Award.
