Ryan Henry Knight (born Ryan Potts) is an award-winning film director, screenwriter, graphic designer, painter, songwriter, and musician from Alexandria, VA. He has involved himself in multiple realms of creativity, from the obvious filmmaking and visual art, to game development and clothing design.

The young artist is on a mission to not only expand in his areas of expertise, but to allow the opportunity for other creatives from across the map to truly hone their crafts and explore their potential.

Ryan founded Cut x Sewn Magazine in 2015, a digital magazine and creative platform that features editorials and articles placing unheard talent under the spotlight. The following year, in 2016, Ryan applied his skills in creativity and branding to throw his first major event; Sense: A Creative Culture Convention.

The event was laid out like a large scale art convention, featuring over 35 performers, designers, and visual artists from across the country, including an appearance from the rapper, Goldlink. The success and acclaim of the event led to Ryan creating Sense, a forward-thinking clothing brand where he worked and designed as the creative director for 9 months before realizing it was time for him to pass the torch and focus on his true passion; filmmaking.

This decision led him to meet fellow filmmaker and best-friend, Muhammed Malik (aka Ahab Mullick), where they founded the independent motion picture company, HÖMA Motion Pictures in March 2017. That same year, they co-directed their first feature film Tide, in which Ryan took the helm of screenwriting.

In November of 2017, Ryan directed the short film Mumbo Jumbo, which later was officially selected to be a part of Bloody Disgusting's short film compilations series, World of Death. In early 2018, Ryan wrote the screenplay And Home We Came, which was greeted with universal acclaim, winning him the first place Golden Prize Best Short Screenplay award at the New York International Screenplay Awards in Manhattan, New York.

Additionally, the screenplay went on to be an Official Selection for Best Short Screenplay at the Columbus Black International Film Festival, Official Finalist in the New York Screenplay Contest for Best Thriller Screenplay, and was selected as a winning Official Finalist at the California Film Awards.

In March of 2018, Ryan was the youngest recipient of the prestigious Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Fellowship Award for his achievements in Film and Video. Later in the year, Ryan was awarded with both a Joyce and Thomas Moorehead Foundation Scholarship and a Congressional Black Caucus Visual Arts Scholarship.

As a Film and Television major, Ryan attended the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2018 with an Achievement Honors and Academic Scholarship in Atlanta, Georgia. In early 2019, he wrote and directed the films You Almost Saw Me and Ludere, both which allowed him to take part in his first festival run, getting official selections and award wins in international festivals such as the High Peak Independent Film Festival in the United Kingdom, Chain NYC Film Festival in Brooklyn, and the Independent Shorts Awards in Los Angeles, where he won the honorable mention for Best Student Director (Male).

While in Atlanta, Ryan spends his days and nights working on an array of projects, hoping to one day take his throne as one of the most prominent filmmakers to reach the big screen.
