Wrote and directed his first feature film, Mexican Sunrise, in 2005. In 2007, directed American Weekend, a documentary about the fans of NASCAR, produced by Endgame Entertainment. In 2008, Sunrise sold at the Cannes Film Market.
In 2009, Stovall was hired to re-write the screenplay and direct, "The Ex Games." In 2011, Stovall bought the US rights back from Philippe Martinez to self distribute the film.His films tend to be inspired by true events based.
