Ross Hogg is an animation filmmaker based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Graduating from the Glasgow School of Art in June 2013, Ross creates dexterous, hand-crafted animation using a variety of materials, celebrating the vibrancy and physicality of the medium.

His films have been successful on the festival circuit, screening internationally, gaining recognition and attention. Ross has received four BAFTA Scotland nominations in consecutive years while his film, Spectators, won the BAFTA Scotland New Talent Award and the Celtic Media Festival Award for Animation in 2014.

His recent co-directed short, Isabella, won the Scottish Short Film Jury Award at Glasgow Short Film Festival, the No Budget Audience Award at Hamburg International Short Film Festival, and two awards at the BFI Future Film Festival in London.

Ross now works on a freelance basis on a range of animation projects whilst occasionally teaching on the undergraduate and masters programmes at the Glasgow School of Art.
