He attended Princeton University, where he performed with a band called The Groceries. He moved to Haiti in the mid-1980s and agreed to start managing the Hotel Olofsson in 1987.

Trivia

While he was born in Puerto Rico, he spent most of his youth in Connecticut. The Olofsson would eventually provide a venue for RAM (named after Richard Auguste Morse's initials) to perform.

Family Life

His wife, Lunise, sang for RAM. They have two children. Michel Martelly, who was elected President of Haiti in 2011, is his cousin.

Associated With

Graham Greene used the Hotel Olofsson as inspiration for Hotel Trianon in his novel The Comedians, albeit more than two decades before Morse became manager.
