Rasmus Botoft was born January 5, 1972 in Amager, Copenhagen, Denmark. He now lives with his wife actor Lisbeth Wulff in Copenhagen. Since the graduation from Aarhus Theatre School (1999) Rasmus was hired to be part of the ensemble at the Royal Danish Theatre.
He quit to work in television, film and radio. With friend and colleague Martin Buch he made the radio show 'The Cavalry' for DR - the Danish Broadcast Corporation it was a success and they turned it into live shows and soon was asked to make it as a television show - Rytteriet (2010).
With Martin Buch and director Peter Harton he wrote and played various roles in the two seasons both acclaimed by critics and latest winning a Danish Academy Award for 'Best Short Format Television Show'.
