She was honored to receive a proclamation from the city of Warrensville Heights, Ohio that declared October 24 Princess Monique Day for being a role model and a positive example of what the city stands for.
She has traveled the world as a high fashion runway and print model for Ebony Fashion Fair and Jet Magazine. Ms. Monique has made several national television appearances including guest starring as an actress on hit sitcoms, Clueless, The Steve Harvey Show and The Parkers.
Princess also has years of experience behind the camera producing and directing in many genres including television, film, commercials, PSA's, and music videos. Her first film, The Call, won nine awards from film festivals in San Francisco, Hollywood, Los Angeles, New York, Cleveland, Denver, and Atlanta.
Her most prestigious award was presented at The San Francisco Black Film Festival where she not only won 1st place for best short, she received the top honor, The Melvin Van Pebbles Award, for best overall film and best director.
The Call's message about HIV/AIDS has been so successful and so profound that it was viewed more than any other film while featured on BET J's Best Short Film Competition. Even with a full plate she continues to be a guest speaker at varies events focusing on HIV/AIDS prevention as well as hosting events around Atlanta, GA Hattitude (Cancer Awareness), Women In Leadership and Empowerment Brunch), Women In Film & TV Short Film Competition and Higher Family Achievement Annual Ball.
Princess recently worked as a on air host of The Princess Monique Show (For Women, About Women and By Women) on News & Talk 1380 WOAK's (AM radio and sister station to Atlanta's #1 FM station V-103 as well as popular personality on V-103.
Ms. Monique is enlightening, enhancing and empowering the lives of women in Atlanta. Princess just completed forming a non-profit organization called "La Princessas Inc" which teaches teen girls to be mentees and mentors to other girls.
This self-esteem empowering group believes in the power of sisterhood and mentorship for all girls. With excellence as her standard in her work and with help from advisor's she has come into her own as founder and CEO of Princess Films Productions. This production company focuses on education and entertainment with a determination on presenting more positive, but realistic images of African-Americans.
After working with Ervin "Magic" Johnson's Magic Hallway Pictures, Princess went on to graduate at the top of her class from Los Angeles City Community College with an associate's degree in Cinema Production.
She's has produced varies showcases highlighting talent from all walks of entertainment. She also has directed behind the scene footage for Steve Harvey's inner city award shown known as the Hoodie Awards in Las Vegas NV and Kevin Hart's Hartbeat Weekend in Atlantic City, NY.
Being in Los Angeles, CA for last fourteen years she has gained experience, education and excellent relationships that is now serving her endeavors in Atlanta, GA. Princess just finished her directorial TV & feature film debut Seasons of Love, starring Gladys Knight, Method Man & Letoya Luckett.
She had the privileged to associate produce this film along side executive producer Taraji P. Henson. Seasons of Love can be seen this holiday season on A&E 's Lifetime television for women. What's next for Princess? 911 Films an educational short film series focusing on the top core issues of America's teens and another feature film called "If It Isn't Love" With all of the experience, education, focus and determination Princess is well on her way of making her mark in education the lives of teens, women and the entertainment industry.
