Phoenix has been acting since she can remember, winning scholarships and awards for acting since her youth. However things weren't easy financially for her growing up. Born in Auckland New Zealand, Phoenix moved to Hamilton at the age of five, her parents splitting not long after.
Leaving her and her two siblings to be raised by a single Mother who relied on the New Zealand benefit for finance. Though money was a struggle in her childhood Phoenix never gave up on her dream, saving and spending birthday money on Film/TV acting workshops.
As soon as she finished high school, she joined TMH Management as an actress and continually attends acting courses/workshops with successful professionals in the industry such as Howard Fine, Lisa Robertson, Michael Saccante, Jennifer Ward-Lealand and many more.
Not only does she study directly with industry professionals, she fondly studies any acting book she can get her hands on.Phoenix has always been a force to be reckoned with winning DUX (top academic student) of her high school and winning multiple scholarships to different universities.
Nevertheless acting has been her number one passion. Phoenix has said that "acting is like a drug" and that she can't see herself without it. Though she also says her poverty stricken background is another motivator.
She wants to "be able to spoil Mum" but admits she will continue to pursue acting regardless of fame or fortune.
