Born in the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx, New York and later raised in Closter, New Jersey, Paul LaGreca has led an eclectic life. He started his career as a tap dancer at the early age of 9 years old and later continued with ballet and jazz.
As a child, his greatest joy was to rush home from school so he could get to the Academy of the Dance. He also had the entire Wizard of Oz memorized line by line by the time he was five.Upon completing high-school, he was awarded a Best Actor scholarship and used it to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York.
Spotted by a faculty member who was casting a play, Paul was asked to play the role of Billy Ray, Jr. in a touring production of "On Golden Pond" and received his Actors Equity card. He was accidentally submitted for a gum commercial as a SAG actor and booked the job.
When the producers discovered that he was not a SAG member, they still wanted him and requested he join SAG that same afternoon. At the age of 18, he was well on his way. He signed with the reputable Shirley Grant in New York, and his career began to blossom in television and film.
Guest-starring on major network television and co-starring in a number of films, Paul was fortunate to work with some of the industry's best including, Alan Arkin, Peter Falk, Beverly D'Angelo, Harris Yulin, Timothy Hutton, Amanda Plummer, John Cassavetes, and Sidney Lumet.
His career shifted dramatically in 1985 when he met Mother Teresa (of Calcutta) who invited him to come and see her life. He left Hollywood and returned to New York where he entered the seminary of the Missionaries of Charity.
He has worked with the poorest of the poor in the slums of New York, Haiti, Rome and Washington DC but decided after a time to "return to the world". He did not return to Hollywood right away, but continued the education he began while in seminary.
Paul successfully completed his B.A. in Philosophy at Saint Thomas Aquinas College in New York (where he graduated as Valedictorian), and later his M.A. in Theology at Seton Hall University (Summa Cum Laude).
He was offered a position at Credit Suisse in NYC, and embarked on a career in Human Resources working for top firms in New York.Paul occasionally takes time away from his corporate career to accept film, television or play offers.
He lives in New York and still lives by the philosophy that a dream was not put into your heart without the power to make it come true and lives within the limitless possibilities that each day holds.
