Neil Chordia is an independent film producer and founder of ChorMedia.In 2008 he co-founded the film production company Eclipse Films, which was later incorporated into the Eclipse Global Entertainment group of which he was also a founding partner and director.
While at Eclipse, Chordia developed a slate of feature films and produced Michael Caton-Jones's "Urban Hymn", starring Shirley Henderson, Letitia Wright and Ian Hart. The film premiered at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival and won the Golden Gryphon at the 2016 Giffoni Film Festival.
It has sold to multiple territories around the world, including the UK (Bulldog Film Distribution) and the USA (Level 33) and has struck a Netflix deal for SVOD. Chordia was long listed by BIFA in 2016 as a Breakthrough Producer and star Letitia Wright was nominated for Most Promising Newcomer.
Chordia continues to act as a consultant to Eclipse.Before co-founding Eclipse, Chordia was an Associate Producer at Marion Pilowsky and Colin Leventhal's Priority Pictures. At Priority, Chordia was responsible for reviewing and creating all production materials for Priority's slate including budget, schedules and financing and recoupment plans.
He was also heavily involved in developing the slate and for reading and evaluating incoming script submissions. Amongst the titles Chordia helped produce were Kenneth Branagh's "Sleuth" starring Michael Caine and Jude Law, "Nina's Heavenly Delights" starring Laura Fraser and Art Malik and "The All Together" starring Martin Freeman and Danny Dyer.
Prior to this, Chordia was Co-Production manager for L.A. sales agent and production company, Myriad Pictures, where he worked on all Myriad's co- productions including Marc Evans' "Trauma" starring Colin Firth, "The River King" starring Ed Burns and Jennifer Ehle, "Piccadilly Jim" starring Sam Rockwell and Tom Wilkinson and Istvan Szabo's "Being Julia", starring an Oscar nominated Annette Bening.
During this time Chordia was responsible for all DCMS submissions and in ensuring co-productions met their minimum spend criteria.Chordia has also worked for United International Pictures, (the former distribution joint venture between Universal, Paramount and MGM) in the marketing and promotions department.
Here he was involved in all the company's UK marketing campaigns including films such as "Gladiator", "M:I-2", "Bridget Jones's Diary", "The World Is Not Enough", "Billy Elliott" and "American Beauty".
In 2006, Chordia directed the short film "Stingray", starring Mathew Horne, Lucy Punch, Dominic West and Andy Serkis. The film was shown at film festivals around the world including Cannes, Palm Springs and The Chicago International Film Festival where it was nominated for best short film.
