Michael Kevin Siegle was born in Rochester, PA on July 17, 1969 to Donald J. and Amelia M. Siegle. Donald was a hospital executive having conceived and built health care organizations from the ground up.
Amelia "Mimi" was a housewife, heavily engaged in the family finances. Michael has one brother, Christopher, and a sister, Susan. From a young age, Michael was a goofy performer and relished being the class clown, which took its toll as he attended catholic elementary school.
At the time, most educators were nuns/sisters of the faith whose goal was to run an extremely tight and ordered ship. Michael clearly didn't fit in as he found himself lost in detention more than a few times.
Some of his dalliances with trouble included tape recording Sister Mary Ann as she scolded him and other students, being a target of a flying eraser emanating from Sister John Gabriel, having the wind knocked out of him by Sr.
Bernardo and impersonating the entire 8th grade faculty, which, led to him being punished in front of the entire staff and clergy. Michael's singular goal was to be the center of attention and his teachers were always the exclusive target of his jokes.
Deciding against a career in acting, which his father did not support, he went the safe route and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh. For 15 years he found himself employed in commercial real estate, medical device sales, retail sales, telecommunications and other "dreary occupations".
Michael kept searching, but never finding. It was 2008 and Michael had just been fired by a commercial real estate firm. It was time. He chose to place 100% of his efforts into acting and modeling. It was a fresh start, as he found himself receiving honorable mentions in acting and modeling talent shows.
Shortly thereafter he was working side by side some of the finest actors and directors of the day. He trained daily and tirelessly as a SWAT team member in the action infused, Christopher McQuarrie directed, Jack Reacher and was a long term stand in for Timothy Olyphant in D.
J. Caruso's, I AM Number 4. He also performed stand in duties for Kevin Corrigan, Kevin Wincott and Russell Crowe. He was a body double for Jason Isaacs in John Singleton's Abduction. All of this while honing his craft in independent and low budget films, theater work and commercials for television.
Michael continuously drove himself to excel and was always fascinated by the profession and the history of film and its actors. During his "freedom years" following a difficult and painful divorce from his wife of 6 years, Michael attended many local and regional acting classes taught by Jill Wadsworth, drama instructor at Carnegie Mellon University, Kathryn Spitz, a solid national working actor in Pittsburgh and Jaime Slavinsky, actor and instructor at Organic Theater-Pittsburgh.
All three women equally challenged Michael in his ongoing pursuit and never-ending journey towards 100% truth in acting. Books which have inspired, and guided Michael include Susan Batson's "Truth", Michael Caine's "Acting in Film", Michael Shurtleff's "Audition", "How to Stop Acting" by Harold Guskin and "A Practical Handbook for The Actor" by Bruder, Cohn, Olnek, Pollack, Previtio and Zigler.
To this day, Michael still doesn't fit in and he probably never will. However, he holds his individualism and independence as solemn and always strives to transform it into something unique and powerful; his next role.
