Also a classically trained actor, Matt has worked with some of the theatre's top directors (Joseph Chaikin, John Rando, Anne Bogart, etc.), on national tours (The Acting Company), off-B'way (Women's Project), in major regional theatres (Yale Rep, La Jolla Playhouse), on TV (Late Night w/Conan O'Brien) and in many commercials.

He also provides the voices for lots of cartoon characters on such Saturday morning hits as "Yu-Gi-Oh! GX" (2004) and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" (2003).As a visionary and widely respected teacher, Matt has midwived the creation of over 200 solo shows in his popular GO-SOLO workshops, including winners of the 2005, 2009, 2010, 2012 & 2013 FringeNYC Best Solo Show Awards.

His teaching is the subject of a NY Times feature article and the documentary SOLO by Shannon Romines.Matt lives in LA with his actress and playwright wife Katie Atcheson.Education: MFA in Acting, University of California, San Diego; BA in playwriting, Brown University (where he was admitted into Paula Vogel's graduate playwriting workshop as an undergrad.
