NBC News as well as dozens of other media companies were on hand to cover the auction. The Batmobile had been forgotten about for years, at that time. The news coverage quickly turned into a whirlwind of national recognition to the family's collection.
The Star Cars Museum in Gatlinburg, TN was started because of the Batmobile and still features many other vehicles from the Helms Collection. This led to the involvement of providing picture cars to production companies.
Mark has been a picture car supplier for over twenty years and prides himself on being able to find that "Impossible To Find Car" that a production company may be searching for. In many cases, Mark has been known to personally purchase vehicles for a production in exchange for a partial return on his investment.
In the early 1990's, Mark was also the owner and driver for two NASCAR sanctioned racing teams competing at several of NASCAR's toughest super speedways as well as local venue tracks.Mark has been gearing his car collection towards vehicles most sought after by production companies including police cars, trucks, taxis, beaters, as well as quite a few vintage antique motorcycles.
Mark also has an extensive collection of realistic costuming to go along with whatever vehicle he provides such as authentic real issue Police Uniforms, Old & New Military Uniforms, Racing Suits, Period Vintage Clothing, Vintage Motorcycling Clothing & Accessories, etc.
as well as many other professional occupational items and props.
