Some Lynne Taylor images

Lynne Taylor was born in Queens, NY and raised on Long Island. Acting started at a young age as she put on plays in the basement of her house and created talent shows in her backyard. Lynne has fond memories of her mother typing up copies of scripts with carbon paper for Lynne and her neighborhood pals to play.

She was always on the move, coming up with projects. Lynne played Merlin, the magician, a play she extrapolated from a short story and once cast herself as a dying man from a radio play. The young lady she cast as a nurse in that play, grew up to be a nurse!Lynne continued to act in her church and at school.

She was a math major in college because math was something she always excelled in (often in advanced classes and left college with a 3.6 cum in Advanced Mathematics) but the theatre arts were calling and she answered.

On this site one sees her film & TV work yet Lynne has excelled in theatre, too. To date she has had 3 Off-Broadway contracts. On one Off Broadway contract, she played an 80 yr old Jewish woman from Brooklyn with dementia.

She spent an hour in hair & make-up but it was well worth it. It was for the Strawberry One Act Play Festival and Lynne won the Best Actress Award. The fun part about winning the prize is that after the award ceremony one of the judges told her, "I was sitting with my son when your piece was on.

I knew I was going to vote for you but after your piece was over, I turned to my son and said, 'Isn't it nice that there are old people in this festival!'" In other words, this judge had no idea that Lynne was a much younger woman.

And when this judge spoke up personally to Lynne, another judge was standing nearby, and he chimed in, "Me, too! I had no idea you were a younger woman."Compliments don't get much better than that!
