Lukas Miko is an Austrian actor, writer and director. He became known for his leading role in Michael Haneke's 71 fragments of a chronology of chance, in which he plays the frustrated sport student Max who runs Amok on the day before Christmas.
It was shown in Cannes 1994 and won amongst other awards the Golden Hugo at Chigako Filmfestival. Miko worked with some of he best Austrian and German film directors, such as Michale Haneke, Götz Spielmann, Stefan Krohmer, Andreas Prochaska, David Schalko, Anja Salomonowitz, Dennis Gansel, Urs Egger, Tom Toelle and others.
Miko also worked as a stage actor, in the prestigious Viennese Burgtheater and the Munich Residenztheater, where he worked with directors such as Klaus-Michael Grüber, Frank Castorf, Andrea Breth, James Macdonald, Declan Donnellan and Francois-Michel Pesenti.
His debut as a writer/director, the 30min-shortfilm "The Frozen Sea" won many awards at film festivals around the world, and also won the LOLA (the German Oscar) for Best Short Film of the Year 2007. In 2014 he will be seen in the movie "Im Labyrinth/Inside the Maze" (dir: Giulio Ricciarelli), telling the story of the Auschwitz Process in Frankfurt in 1958.
