John and his wife Dawn Kelsey launched their children's book company, "Flippy and Friends" nationwide in 2008. John received "The Young Alumnus of the Year Award" from LSU in 2000. John also wrote/produced/directed several short films including the mini-feature, "Perfect Day" (2007) which also premiered at the New Orleans Film Festival.
On stage John has acted roles in over 30 plays including; Brick in Cat on Hot Tin Roof, and Hoss in The Tooth of Crime by Sam Shepard. He also played Kim in Search & Destroy in New York at The Sanford Meisner Theatre.
