Former shooting guard known for his outside shot, winning two 3-point shootout championships. He played for the Phoenix Suns, Philadelphia 76ers, and Utah Jazz. He served as head coach of the Phoenix Suns in 2013 after spending two years as an assistant coach for the Utah Jazz. From 2016 to 2018, he served as head coach of the New York Knicks.
Before Fame
He helped Iowa State University upset a 2-seeded University of Michigan team on the way to the Sweet 16 of the 1986 NCAA tournament. He was then selected 46th overall in the 1986 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns.
