Ian took the stage name of Ian Down in 1995 when he founded Shotdown, his Long Beach punk band.Ian has appeared in many clubs since he was 18 as a Promoter, Light and Sound Engineer, and as lead singer.
Ian wanted to own his own studio and night club. Beginning with small places, such as his garage at age 16, to owning his own recording studio in 2012, SKR Studios, located in North HollywoodWhile in high school, Ian became interested in sound engineering through a friend who owned his own studio.
After graduation from high school, Ian enrolled in courses in Sound Engineering at Long Beach Community College. At the age of 27, Ian attended Musicians Institute receiving certification in Post Production/Sound Engineer.
