Gregory Markus Hegel was born on March 5th 1996 in Bad Homburg v.d. Höhe in Germany. He grew up in the greater Rhein/Main area in the city of Mainz where he initially pursued a career as a professional pilot as a kid.

After making some video montages for YouTube and taking classes in theatrical acting, he soon developed a keen interest in the art of visual storytelling and film directing. Following his A-level. graduation in 2015 he spent some time in the U.

S. before attending film school in Cologne, Germany for a three and a half year program in film directing. During this team Greg has acquired multi faceted knowledge about the production of motion picture and has working on several professional film sets in a multitude of positions.

In 2016 he spent a semester studying at the Baltic Film School in Tallinn, Estonia where he also made his first independent short film as a writer, director and producer "Fasten. Your. Seat. Belt" (2016).

In 2018 he did an internship at the Los Angeles based film production company EndCue and gathered further insight into the inner workings of an established production house. In the summer 2019 Greg filmed his first documentary "4 Weeks Of Daylight" on the Kola peninsula in Russia about a group of pioneer fishermen exploring a territory previously untouched by human activity.

Following his graduation from film school in early 2019, he wrote, directed and produced his second short film "The Light That No One Sees" (2020) in February of 2019. The movie is set to be completed in June of 2020 after which it will go on its festival run.
