After nearly 30 years directing and producing thousands of commercials worldwide, the brasileiro director Flavia Moraes is finally pursuing her dream of focusing on independent projects. Flavia attended a course at the Art School of University of Rio Grande do Sul, and joined film directing classes at the London International Filma School.
She has participated on workshops promoted by the Italian Institute of Culture with Franco Zefirelli, by NYU with Martin Scorcese, and training at AVID/NY in off-line editing as well as ARRI/Munich in camera operation.
She has also studied with Mark Travis, recognized "director's trainer" in Hollywood.Having won important Festivals including the New York Film Festival, the Clio, Cannes Lions International and FIAP, she was presented three times with the distinguished "Caboré", considered the most coveted prize in the Brazilian advertising and television market and received the special juried award from the 1st FESTRIO with "Beijo Ardente/Overdose" also winner of Video Brasil (Museum of Image and Sound/São Paulo).
Moraes who has an important background in music, theater and film, has recently been named as the new Director for Innovation and Communication at RBS Group, one of the largest media groups in Brazil.
Flavia is now developing her next feature film, the adaptation of "Down the rabbit hole" ("Fiesta en la Madriguera") the awarded novel by Juan Pablo Villalobos, and finishing the docummentary "The Communication(R)evolution", an investigation into the future of communication.
