Davide Rossi has created a niche of his own, not only in the way he plays his acoustic and electric violins, but also in the way he writes and arranges for string orchestras and various other string ensembles.

He has played every string bowed instrument, from violins to violas, cellos and contra-basses since his early days as a recording artist, back in Italy during the early nineties.Using multi-tracking to create demos, he would then score for orchestral recordings at Abbey Road or Air Studios in London, or for the Prague, Budapest and Sofia Philharmonics, just to name a few.

However, while working in such premises, always aware and respectful of the old school ways of arranging, he still felt that recording on his own had a certain quality and integrity that neither the best studio nor the greatest orchestra could replicate.

With improved technology and constant developing of his way of working, he decided that perhaps the 'one man orchestra' technique would be the way to go in the future.Encouraged by his mentor, teacher and friend, guitarist Robert Fripp and influenced by his time with music composer Karlheinz Stockhausen, he would go on to develop the sound that many know by now as a unique melange of pop/baroque and classic trademark.

The sound of such hits as "Viva La Vida" and "Paradise" by Coldplay, "Love Is Noise" by The Verve, "Brand New Me" by Alicia Keys, "The Girl And The Robot" by Röyksopp and Robyn and many others, are just a testimony to the quality and uniqueness of his work.

From Goldfrapp to Morricone, Dido to Neil Diamond, The Verve to Ed Sheeran, Jon Hopkins and more, his list of star clients and collaborators keeps growing. He still works with orchestras, especially when the full tone of brass, woodwinds, percussions and the choir is needed, and more of such projects saw him working recently with Culture Club and the BBC Philharmonic for 'Sound of The Eighties' and George Ezra and the BBC Concert Orchestra for the BBC Music Awards of 2014.

Exhausted from live touring with Goldfrapp back in 2013, and after 13 years on the road with them, plus live shows as special guest with The Verve, Chris Martin, Coldplay, Neil Young, Röyksopp and Jon Hopkins, he now concentrates on writing, composing and arranging for his own and his many client's projects.

This includes future co-writes with Matt Hales of Aqualung, his own very first solo album and his ongoing project with band mates Black Submarine.
