🌙 Zodiac

Daniel Tee’s zodiac sign is Aries. According to astrologers, the presence of Aries always marks the beginning of something energetic and turbulent. They are continuously looking for dynamic, speed and competition, always being the first in everything - from work to social gatherings. Thanks to its ruling planet Mars and the fact it belongs to the element of Fire (just like Leo and Sagittarius), Aries is one of the most active zodiac signs. It is in their nature to take action, sometimes before they think about it well.

🌙 Chinese Zodiac Signs

Daniel Tee was born in the Year of the Monkey. Those born under the Chinese Zodiac sign of the Monkey thrive on having fun. They’re energetic, upbeat, and good at listening but lack self-control. They like being active and stimulated and enjoy pleasing self before pleasing others. They’re heart-breakers, not good at long-term relationships, morals are weak. Compatible with Rat or Dragon.

Born in 1981, Daniel grew up near Reading in England. He started making animations at the age of ten and developed a passion for live action narratives that he filmed with school friends and edited cruedly on a VCR.

Daniel's first experience of being on a professional film set was as an extra in The Land Girls (1998), starring Rachel Weisz, Catherine McCormack and Anna Friel. In 2004, he met filming compadre Rishi Thaker on a community film course.

After just a few minutes of talking, they had the idea for a short zero-budget horror A Mid-Summer Nightmare and started filming the very next weekend. Stickmen Pictures was born. Together with Rishi, Daniel went on to produce several short films, including chiller The Darkness in the Fields and philosophical drama Across The Styx.

In 2005, Daniel was in the last group selected for a residential course at ARTTS Skillcentre in Yorkshire, a centre of excellence founded by the world-renowned theatre and film director John Sichel, a former trainer at RADA and London Film School.

Sichel had formerly worked with Laurence Olivier, Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren, Oliver Reed, Sean Connery and Michael Caine, to name but a few. John Sichel sadly passed away that year and the centre was closed, but Daniel's experience there was invaluable.

He started filming documentaries and music videos and spent six months working as a cameraman for a shopping channel. The opportunity to work on his first feature film came in the form of A Reckoning (2011), directed by Andrew David Barker.

Daniel worked as cameraman, alongside the project's diverse actor Leslie Simpson (Dog Soldiers (2002), The Descent (2005)). Filming outside in some of the coldest conditions England has ever seen, he worked fourteen hour days for two weeks with the crew to complete the principle photography.

Daniel pioneered an interactive live-action video format and entertained audiences with his and Rishi's The Plumber. The opportunity came to appear on the television shows The One Show (2006), Watchdog (1985) and How to Look Good Naked (2006).

Towards the end of 2010, Daniel started work as a producer on the feature film Slaughter Is the Best Medicine (2014), a zero-budget action thriller shot in Derbyshire. The story follows a group of mercenaries in their quest to capture a turncoat scientist in enemy territory.

The high-concept nature of the project has gathered much interest from distribution companies in both the U.S.A and in Britain. Stickmen Pictures continues to grow and the next year is set to be an exciting one for the company.
