Daniel Böhm was born on 16 June 1986 in Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Lower Saxony, Germany. He is a professional biathlete. His first year in the sport was 1999 and he made his World Cup debut in 2005. His best personal result was 2nd place in the 20 km Individual in Vancouver in 2008-2009.
That season he finished at number 59 in the overall. Another personal best was 2 years later in Fort Kent, Maine in the 10 km sprint where he placed at 5th position. In spite of such occasional results, Böhm wasn't selected to join the German team at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.
After the Games, he was brought back during the 2011 World Championships in Khanty-Mansyisk. Böhm took part in only one event - the 20 km Individual where he finished 29th. During the entire season, Dani Böhm managed a 9th place in the sprint in Kontiolahti.
The highlight in his career so far occurred at the Olympics in Sochi in 2014. This time Böhm was chosen to join the team. It proved to be the right decision because he won a silver medal in the relay alongside his teammates Erik Lesser, Arnd Peiffer and Simon Schempp.
He participated only in the Individual, where he placed 10th from the other biathlon disciplines. The 2013-2014 season was quite successful for him not only because of the Olympic joy he experienced by winning a silver with the relay.
No! It started at the very beginning with a good 5th place in the Individual in Ostersund. That was the first race from the schedule for the new season. Later on Böhm made a 10th place in the sprint and the Individual in Hochfilzen and 8th place in the 15 km mass start.
He finished the season 23rd in the overall. At the 2015 World Championships in Kontiolahti, Böhm won a gold medal in the relay and placed 11th in the Individual. He didn't took part in the other races.
During this 2014-2015 season, the best in his career on the World Cup stage, Böhm achieved 5th place in the sprint, 11th in the pursuit and 8th place in the mass start in Khanty-Mansyisk, as well as a 9th position in the sprint in Ruhpolding.
He ended the season 18th, the best overall finish in his entire career.
