Born in the Czech Republic, raised in Bratislava, Slovakia. In 1989, after the communist wall had fallen, Dagmar successfully entered The University of Dramatic Art and Music in Bratislava, Slovakia, studying acting, Jose Limon's dancing technique and singing lessons.

Dagmar graduated in 1996 with a Master Degree in Dramatic Art and Theatre Science. Throughout the 1990s Dagmar played live theater in a range of styles from Shakespearean, Russian drama and comedy to musicals and modern American drama.

She joined the Bratislava National Theater Company production of ''A Little Night Music'' where she payed Charlotte. From there, Dagmar moved to the role of Nerissa in Shakespeare's 'Merchant of Venice' for Theater Astorka.

Followed production at the New Scene Theater of 'Richard III' playing Lady Ann. Other theater credits include roles in county theaters productions: Maria in Goethe's 'Clavijo', role Fiokla in Gogol's 'Wedding', Magdalena in Hesse's 'Augustine', Venda in Vedekind's 'Spring Walking Time', #1 KitKat Girl in Masteroff's 'Cabaret'.

Theater work was followed by an established career in film and television. She made an early name for herself in the 1989 French short film "From East to West". This led to other lead roles for Slovakian National Television: "Mario Whistle" (1990), "Zenske oddelenie" (1990 "Women's Department" ), "Lamp of a Poor Man" (1993), Dostoyevsky's "Bad Joke" (1994), TV film "Albert, Albert" (1994), TV series "Big Heart" (1997), and much more.

An impressive resume was building as her career grew into the international film. Working with such talents as European director Peter Patzak she made her feature film debut in "Es lebe die Liebe, der papst und das Puff" (1993), and, in 1994, co-starred in Czech film "Diky za kazde nove rano" ("Thanks for a Good Morning") by Milan Steindler.

the Film won in 1995 the Czech Critics Awards Kristian - Best Feature Film (Nejlepsi Hrany Film Roku). From there Edwards, moved to co-star in German film Der Ausbruch directed by Mark Schlichter (1996, UFA-Fernsehproduktion GmbH), in 1997 won RTL Golden Lion Awards for Best TV Film or Miniseries; in 1997 "Balko" (directed by Manfred Stelzer, RTL TV series).

In 1998 appearing with Mario Van Peebles in "Crazy six" by Albert Pyun. Worked on The Peacemaker (1997) as an assistant to George Clooney, Slovakia. Recent film credits include the independent feature A Year and a Day (2005) directed by Robert Lane and starring role in Rapture (2014) by Richard Lowry.

In 2009 worked on Primetime TV Show "Sentenced" with DNA Production directed by Peter Bebjak.
