Colin, born 11/27/1969 - Thanksgiving morning at 7:34 AM, began singing under the teaching of his Director father, David M. Wood, at the age of 5.At 6, Christmas Eve, a packed Trinity Church, during the midnight service, Colin bravely sang "Angels We Have Heard On High", surrounded by the adult and treble choir (packed with Tri-City, NYC, and future Met stars), a congregation walking by to get communion and going back to their seats.

He did what he was coached to do, and sang the entire two final phrase of the chorus in two breaths, per all the verses in the hymnal, as there were 300 to 400 people strong. Soon, after running to the bathroom, Colin's career as a singer began.

After a decade of training under his father to sing like Gordon McRae, and Howard Keel, Gerald Grahame of the NYC Opera took over coaching Colin for 2 years. With a birthday gift of a set-up audition for American Musical Dramatic Academy by his father, Colin obtained scholarships and attended A.

M.D.A., finishing in 17 months, by attending straight through from 2/88 to 6/89, with no summer break. Changing his plans to become a New York Yankee baseball player.Done with loafing around NYC, feeling sorry for himself from not getting cast for his first paying musical, Colin went on an auditioning craze for the next 3 years.

He booked his first professional contract at Dutch Apple Diner as Riff in West Side Story (although he was a tenor, and didn't dance so great, and wanted Tony), and signed on as the Freddy U/S for My Fair Lady, and then another show as Rolf in Sound of Music.

Colin then moved on to perform on the Spirit Boats of NY and NJ for a year, before getting cast in Opera NE's Tour of Oklahoma in the chorus and as the Curly U/S. His next show was Golden Musicals of Broadway, touring Europe with Stella Productions.

However, his roles as Riff-Raff, Bill, and Marius would only last three months, as he was off to a whole new world, after that, with his replacement's flight, rehearsal time, and his contract all bought out.

Prior to capturing the European Tour, Colin had auditioned for a show he had seen on Broadway, a couple of years earlier, called Starlight Express. It was an open audition, and Colin had some solid forward skating experience at his home area local Skate-E-State.

Luckily for him, Colin got to sing first, auditioning with Michael Bolton's "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You". Colin was usually good at knowing if he was liked, or not. He got the callback to stay and skate and dance.

Little did Colin know that it was going to be backward skating too, and dancing on skates. He took to the back line of the group after managing the skating somewhat. Once the dance was learned, they were all asked to do it together, only once.

Colin began, and about three moves in stood up, froze, and smiled through the rest, while everyone else danced. As some dancers were asked to get in groups of 4 and do it again, Colin went to the back of the room, took off his skates, put on his coat and threw a bag over his shoulder, and stood against the door frame as they called out people to stay.

The entire list was finished, and then Colin's name was called out last. He had already started out the door to go home. Four months went by, after singing Starlight Express in English at the callback a couple of times with some direction, and thought he'd never hear from them again, although they seemed to like him a lot.

The day he was packed and ready to go down to a cab for the airport, for the tour, he received a call on the phone in the hall on the first floor of his 44th st. apartment. He asked the desk-man to hold his cab outside for him.

Colin picked up a payphone, and answered and was cast as Rusty, first cast, to begin March 1st, 1991 in Bochum, Germany ( the longest-running musical in history, in June 2020-32 years.)Starlight Express took care of all the technicalities with the tour, and Colin left the tour on March 1st from Finland.

He starred as Rusty for a year and performed Rusty on the 1991 German Highlights Recording of Starlight Express. Andrew Lloyd-Webber would hand-select him on his 1997 and 1998 European Showstopper CDs, Wolterfolge I and Wolterfolge II, both part of his contractual agreement from 5 and 6 years prior, with no payment.

The rest of his career has seen him play the roles of Tony in West Side Story again, Billy Bigelow in Carousel, Young Joe in Damn Yankees, J. Pierpont Finch in How To Succeed..., Freddy in My Fair Lady again, Burt Healey and President Cabinet member in Annie, Rooster for in 2 emergency performances in Annie (had to learn entire roll in half a day), Tigger in Winnie the Pooh Christmas, Aladdin in Aladdin, and directed The Little Mermaid.

He has also been in Jesus Christ Superstar, The Student Prince, Fiddler on the Roof, Man 2 in Songs For A New World, Hair, Robert in Golden Days (a new musical). He created the role of Dan in Captain's Courageous at Goodspeed Operahouse prior to its Broadway Engagement, and his final starring stage role was as Jean Val Jean in Les Miserables with SRO Productions III.
