Charles "Chuck" McIlvain was born in Woodland Hills, CA. He attended TAFT High school and studied Environmental Engineering at the University of California Berkeley. Chuck went on to study animation at Expressions in San Fransisco.
His first job was at Sony Pictures Imageworks where he would craft out a successful and meaningful career in the pipeline. It was Chuck's unique engineering background and knowledge of programming that made him a valuable asset to SPI.
After 15 years at SPI, Chuck went on to work at Walt Disney Imagineering. His main project was the James Cameron ride, Flights of Passage at Animal Kingdom. Chuck worked at WDI for 2 years before moving on to Netflix in Hollywood.
Chuck worked at Netflix for a mere three months before he was tragically killed on the MV Conception off Santa Cruz Island on Labor Day (2nd Sept) 2019.He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Jasmine Lord
