The Military did just that, and a lot more.At 22, Leyva finished Bootcamp and flew cross the world in to British Indian Ocean Territory to a base known as DIEGO GARCIA. He spend the next year straight on this isolated island in the middle of the ocean, Learning Law Enforcement tactics, Training in Anti Force Protection Measures, handling and firing small arms.
This was the beginning of a 8.5yrs Military Career. Stationed in Guantanamo Bay Cuba for 3yrs and finishing up his contract back home is San Diego California.Leyva did gain discipline, structure and experience but never lost his Creative Drive.
Straight from boot camp and every command after that Leyva was always involved with creating, weather it was designing department logos, murals on the quarter deck or event photography, Leyva needed to feed his Creative Drive.
Guantanamo Bay, Cuba is where the spark of a creative career was reignited. Leyva would escape reality by spending his free time, drawing, tattooing and searching for creative inspiration. After 8.5yrs in the Military LEYVA decided to follow his creative passion and move to Hollywood California, were he would Attend the Los Angeles Film School for Film Production.
When LEYVA was not Directing or Camera Operating he would be Casted for student projects and that's where he got the itch for acting. LEYVA was Casted on the CBS Show S.W.A.T as a special abilities actor, Featured on Netflix on El Vato and has been cast-ed for multiple Short Films.
