🌙 Chinese Zodiac Signs
Chase Levy was born in the Year of the Ox. Another of the powerful Chinese Zodiac signs, the Ox is steadfast, solid, a goal-oriented leader, detail-oriented, hard-working, stubborn, serious and introverted but can feel lonely and insecure. Takes comfort in friends and family and is a reliable, protective and strong companion. Compatible with Snake or Rooster.
Chase grew up on the skirts of NYC, in Leonia, a small town nicknamed "The Athens of New Jersey", whose hometown heroes include the likes of Anthony Bourdain & Alan Alda. Raised by his mother Annette DiMino Levy, a third generation Sicilian-American New Yorker and Bronx school teacher, and George Levy, a second-generation NYC cab driver and third-generation Bronx Native, Chase developed his charisma & grit as soon as he was able to walk & talk, and soon thereafter began his career on the stage and screen.
He now has 25+ years of experience & training, and is a member of the Screen Actors Guild since 1996. He was last seen playing Nick, a wayward hippie musician, in the premier season of American Soul (2019) on BET, the story of Don Cornelius & Soul Train.
Attending college in New York City, in the aftermath of 9/11, Chase was compelled to apply his burgeoning production career towards something that served his country in a meaningful way. His freshman year he began internship at NBC Nightly News, sharing the same first day as it's new anchor and managing editor, Brian Williams.
Upon completion of his internship, Chase was hired onto the production team where he worked steadfastly for four years, providing him with perhaps an even greater education than the one he received in class further uptown at Marymount Manhattan College.
Covering leading stories that included the re-election of George W. Bush, the Iraq war, the war in Afghanistan, the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, the papal nomination of Joseph Ratzinger and the 2008 Democratic Primaries that led to the election of President Barack Obama, Chase occupied a desk in the legendary 30 Rock newsroom and on the front line of the 3A control room through it all.
All the while, Chase's "rock n' roll" streak was never tamed. When the position of entertainment coordinator / music & talent booker for the Today Show across the hall opened up, Chase was approached for the job.
There he was part of the team that produced the Rockefeller Plaza concert series for giants like Bruce Springsteen & Coldplay, and comedy sketches and interview segments with the likes of Jerry Seinfeld, Amy Winehouse, Will Ferrel & Woody Harrelson, to name a few.
The windy road since includes 15 years of Production credits in Television for such networks as NBC, VH1, BRAVO & HGTV, having produced Network News, Variety / Talk Shows, Live TV, Concert Events, Competition-Reality, Long Form & Short Form Docu-Series, Film, New Media and Music Videos, along with Musical Records, Theater Productions, Runway Shows, and a vast array of successful Nightlife Events.
As a Producer, Chase has a dynamic vision that combines his immersive passion, keen artistic sensibility & fastidious business practicality. He's developed a reputation for making the impossible possible, negotiating difficult contracts, managing some of the most complicated personalities in the industry & bringing unique ideas to creative development with an intuitive ability to understand an audience, identify & set trends.
He is currently writing & developing a 1-hr scripted series titled XACCA.
