When a reserved yet outgoing 27 year old first walked on set of John Gatins' Dreamer: Inspired By A True Story as a featured extra, little did he nor anyone else know around him that he would have such a strong influence in Kentucky's film industry today.
The middle son of a sheet metal operator and lab technician, Chad Hundley was born in Burlington, North Carolina and grew up there and graduated from Southern Alamance High School (1995). Showing little interest in playing sports or hunting (which was a hobby by most of his peers), Chad participated in community plays, church pageants and school productions.
He also started participating in acting workshops and seminars.Chad attended East Coast Bible College in Charlotte, originally studying to be a youth minister and music director in a church. But, when he rediscovered that passion for acting, he formed a traveling drama troupe "Image" that traveled all over the United States teaching acting, mime and drama to churches and communities.
Chad had always had a dream of becoming a professional actor and his opportunity started to become a reality by working on Dreamer in the fall of 2004.After Dreamer, Chad started hunting for auditions both great and small, because Chad's philosophy comes from the quote that "there are no small parts, only small actors!" About a month after Dreamer wrapped he then went to film a bit role in a low budget horror film Dar Rang in Louisville.
Following that role, he quickly auditioned and got the lead role for another low budget horror movie called The Thing That Should Not Be, opposite the lovely Jessica Rothert. Chad noticed that he was finding himself traveling a few hours away for a lot of projects that he was finding and then stumbled across a group of filmmakers located in the city of Lexington, where he was moving to from Winchester, KY.
While working with a couple of production companies in Lexington, Chad started getting an eye and vision for directing and producing films himself and not just acting in them which he still loves to do.
2006 brought a few more opportunities for Chad allowing him to direct, produce and star in a low budget horror film that grabbed the Midwest's attention entitled "Into The Woods". With a Friday the 13th Midnight premiere at the prestigious Kentucky Theatre in downtown Lexington, it was a sold out event.
Chad was completely surprised and amazed at the local and regional support. While touring the film in surrounding states he also found time to be an extra in the 2006 We Are Marshall and 2007's National Treasure 2.
In 2007, Chad started and founded his own talent agency and management group named Craven Corner Enterprises. Chad wanted to bring back to the community some of the dreams that came true for him and help others achieve their goals and dreams even if people tell them that they cannot pursue them.
A caravan of volunteers quickly followed Chad in his endeavor to bring casting assistance and quality help at a very affordable rate to their clients and clientele. In 2008, Chad was nominated as one of the 20 recipients for Gay Role Model of the Year by a group of LGBT Organizations.
Chad is also the Executive Director of two film festivals in Kentucky during Pride Month (June) in Lexington and Louisville. He is also highly involved with G.L.A.D.D. and Lexington's GLSO while serving on the board of directors for the Kentucky Fairness Alliance.
Chad hopes to bring total awareness of all LGBT issues as well as supporting Kentucky's Filmmakers. He has previously enjoyed being a music buyer for a bookstore, bartender, youth minister, spokesperson, advertising executive, office coordinator and call center customer service representative.
In addition to acting and producing, Chad has professional experience in singing and modeling as well. He also likes to write songs and inspire youth all over that you should always follow your dreams and never give up!
