Father was William D. Troxell, who also performed under the stage name of Bill DeLong. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Attended four different high schools in three different states. Made his first film at the age of 12.
Entered the US Air Force in 1976 and served at Shemya AFB in Alaska and Nellis AFB in Nevada. Was one of the first students in the film program at Brigham Young University in the early 1980's. Entered the Utah National Guard and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the combat engineers in 1983.
Joined the King County Police Department in Washington, December 1989. Injured in line of duty incident. Left department with a disability in 1996. Wrote and directed the 35mm feature, "The Creator's Game" in 1998.
It was the first feature film that showcased lacrosse as the main theme. Worked for Boeing, 2004 until 2018. Had fifth back operation in 2017 resulting from previous police injury. Suffered complications which caused him to retire from Boeing in 2018.
Wrote, directed and produced, "Chased" in 2017. Troxell is dedicated to bringing feature film production back to Washington state.
