From an early age, Billy Pollina was involved with filmmaking in San Francisco, and later moved to Los Angeles to study theater at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. After several years of writing and performing, Pollina transitioned into production, landing jobs in the theater, television and film community as a production assistant, production coordinator and, eventually, writer and producer.

Having gained experience at a small marketing company, he decided to start his own business called Optical Nerve, Inc., serving the entertainment industry to create television spots and trailers as well as offering alternative marketing and live event planning.

In 1998, Pollina sold his marketing company and launched the highly successful, critically-acclaimed punk music website buddyhead.com. After producing the short film Great Poets Die (based on the Charles Bukowski short story), which was accepted into the Telluride Film Festival, Pollina began developing projects for NBC with collaborator Adam Barr, executive producer for "Will & Grace.

" In 2000, Pollina produced the award winning short film Mackenheim for writer and director Adam Barr. You Got Served (2004) marks Pollina's first feature film as producer. Pollina continues to write and produce and currently has two pictures in development.
