French freediver who broke a female world record by diving to a depth of 130 meters underwater on a single breath. She passed away during a practice dive of 171 meters in 2002 and was posthumously inducted into the Women Divers Hall of Fame later that year.
She grew up in a family of diving and snorkeling enthusiasts in France. She moved to Mexico City as a teenager and later studied marine biology at a university in La Paz.
