Anisha Thomas is an award-winning Australian composer, arranger, orchestrator, music producer and pianist. She completed the Bachelor of Music (Composition) degree with Honours at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Her work demonstrates a variety of musical styles with her career involving working with a variety of artists from different backgrounds, such as screen, theatre and dance. Anisha has worked with acclaimed Australian ensembles such as the Australian Art Orchestra, jazz legend Sandy Evans and tenor vocalist Mark Vincent.
Her music has been featured in various Australian and international productions.As a screen composer, she regularly composes for a variety of Australian and US Film/TV productions. Some of her screen music credits include 13 short films including the award-winning film Curated Illusions, 3 documentaries, a TV series, a webseries and a feature film.
She is a professional member of the Australian Guild of Screen Composers, Australian Academy of the Cinematic Arts and APRA Australia. As a proud advocate for diversity and gender equality, Anisha is also a member of Women in Film and Television Australia and the Alliance for Women Film Composers.
To further her activism and advocacy for greater diversity in the entertainment industry Anisha founded and also runs the sound and music production house Sound-how, leading a diverse team of composers and sound designers.
Sound-how prides itself on providing world-class sound and music production services as well as being a social enterprise, as part of our funds go towards causes helping underrepresented groups and communities.
In 2018 Anisha won the Best Original Score award at the Made in the West Festival for her film score for Three Feet Deep, directed and written by Rachael Belle Myers. Anisha regularly works with the Film/TV industry both in Australia and US.
In 2019 she is scheduled to compose for a US/Australian TV Series, a feature film and two documentaries.
