Alistair Charles Steel was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on 5th October 1963. He attended Portobello High School and Edinburgh Napier University, and graduated in 1986 with a BS Honors degree in Electronic and Communication Engineering.
He worked as a design engineer in England and Scotland in the telecommunications and home audio/video industries and progressed into technical sales and training roles. He took the opportunity to move to Florida in 1999 on an employment visa and became a permanent resident in 2006.
Alistair moved to Los Angeles in 2008 within the engineering industry but in 2009 he shifted careers to acting, very quickly becoming a SAG-AFTRA member. He took acting classes, gained extensive on-set and camera experience with many featured and stand-in roles, starred in short films, documentaries and commercials, and performed in an improv troupe in community theater for several years.
In 2015 he won the lead role in the short film The Deserted with the NYFA, in which he portrayed the same character in several different looks and age groups.
