Alan also scored Angels In Exile, a documentary narrated by Charlize Theron.He founded the Lalela Music production music catalog, which has enjoyed millions of broadcast performances globally. In 2017, the catalog was sold to STX Entertainment.
Alan won a lifetime Recognition Award at the Wawela Awards presented by performing rights society, SAMRO. He also received a Mark Awards nomination for Best Ambient Track for "Hammer Will Fall." The Mark Awards are the highest award in the production music industry.
He was born in South Africa, where he was keyboard player and producer in multi-platinum selling band Mango Groove. They performed at the inauguration of Nelson Mandela, and toured extensively around the world.
He also wrote African Dream, a Song of the Decade nominee. The song was recently performed on America's Got Talent by the Ndlovu Youth Choir, and received four enthusiastic Yeses from the judges, including Simon Cowell.
