Abdolreza Kahani is an Iranian filmmaker. He studied theatre, has been working in theatres since he was 13 years old and got lots of awards in Acting and Directing. After his theatre experiences, he started making short and documentary films and then he started making features in 2007.
Since then he made films in different countries which brought him lots of awards and successes. He made eight films in Iran, which made him a famous filmmaker there. Although some of him movies were banned in his home country and some even been banned everywhere.
His films have usually been financially successful, and critics liked them too. After his film "Delighted" got banned in Iran, he announced that he would no longer work along with censorship and he decided to work in other countries.
So far he made films in Thailand, France and Canada. Although the Iranian government kept making it hard for him to create and distribute his movies, he got precious awards in and out of Iran like Karlovy Vary and Thessaloniki festival.
